Shenandoah National Park
The amazing Shenandoah
Shenandoah National Park is filled with wilderness hiking trails, vistas of the valley and river below, broad green meadows, waterfalls, and some of the most stunning mountain scenery on the East Coast.
The park includes a long stretch of the Appalachian Trail. Its mountains are part of the vast Blue Ridge Mountains.
The park is listed one of the nation’s 10 most endangered national parks, according to the National Parks Conservation Association.
The lack of federal funding, pollution, and other factors threaten the wildlife, the vast forests and wilderness, and the natural setting of the park.
